VISIT SAVANNAH'S PRINT CAMPAIGN HONORED WITH GOLD AWARD IN GRAPHIS ADVERTISING ANNUAL 2020

Visit Savannah’s print advertising campaign titled “This Isn’t Ordinary. This is Savannah” has been honored at the Graphis Advertising Annual 2020 with a Gold Award in the travel category. The campaign was submitted by Paradise Advertising, the creative agency that Visit Savannah worked with to create it. Only five travel campaigns were selected for an award, and the Visit Savannah campaign is one of only two Gold Award-winning entries.
The “This Isn’t Ordinary. This is Savannah” campaign has previously been honored by HSMAI, the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International, with two Silver Adrian Awards in the Advertising category, the first for its print campaign and the second for the full print and digital campaign, as well as a “Best of the Bay” Best Print Advertising award at Tampa Bay’s American Advertising Awards Gala, where Paradise is based.
Joseph Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah, says that the goal of the creative campaign is to reach travelers who will stay longer in the destination and spend more money while in town. “The team at Visit Savannah is extremely proud of this acknowledgement of our work and is grateful to the folks at Paradise for their creativity and ingenuity with the campaign,” says Marinelli. “Together we feel that it definitely delivers on our goal of speaking to potential visitors that are more likely to stay longer and spend more when they visit Savannah.”
Vice president of communications & marketing Jeremy Harvey elaborates: “Our goal with this campaign is to not only elevate the presence of Savannah in the minds of our potential visitors, but to allow Savannah to stand out in a very crowded and competitive tourism advertising space. This award recognizes that we, along with the great creative team at Paradise Advertising, accomplished this goal, and that’s extremely gratifying.”
Graphis is one of the top creative publications in the industry. Graphis’ Advertising Annual is a global competition, meaning Visit Savannah’s campaign was up against submissions from all around the world. Graphis is committed to presenting and promoting the work of exceptional talent in design, advertising, photography and art/illustration. In addition to the Platinum, Gold, and Silver winners, Graphis also embraces rising talent, all of whom have an equal archive presentation. In their hardcover Annuals, Platinum and Gold winners receive full-page exposure, and Silver and Merit Winners are also visually presented.
